FREE PATTERN: Fringed scarf _ L01

This is a simple crochet pattern suitable for beginners.

Personally I love the combination of mustard and brown, but of course you can choose another combination of colors or make it in a single color.

Used stitches: chain, single crochet, treble & tr2tog.
LEVEL: Easy
Written in American terms.

YARN

- Mustard yarn Sport weight 100% acrylic_ 200g

- Brown yarn DK weight 100% acrylic_ 30g

HOOK

- Crochet hook size E/4 (3.5mm) and 7 (4.5 mm).

ABBREVIATIONS:

ch: chain.                                                            tr: treble.

st: stitch.                                                            tr2tog : treble two stitches together

sc: single crochet                                             (explanation here)

PATTERN INSTRUCCIONS:

Make the scarf with the sport weight yarn and a 3.5mm hook; and make the fringes with the DK weight yarn and put them with a 4.5mm crochet hook.

Ch 27.

ROW 1:

Work  1 sc in each st across till end  (27 stitches) . Turn.

ROW 2:

Step 1: Ch 4 (count as treble), 2 tr in 6th ch from hook, 1 tr in the next chain, 2 tr in the next chain.

Step 2: Ch 1, skip a st, tr2tog in the next st, 1 tr in the next st, tr2tog in the next st.

Step 3: Ch 1, skip a st, 2 tr in the next st, 1tr in the next st, 2 tr in the next st.

Step 4: Repeat step 2 and 3. Skip a st, 1 tr in the next st. Turn.

ROW 3:

Step 1: Ch 4 (count as a treble), ch 1, tr2tog in the next st, 1 tr in the next chain, tr2tog in the next st, ch 1.

Step 2: Skip a st, 2 tr in the next st, 1 tr, 2 tr in the next st.

Step 3: Ch 1, skip a st, tr2tog in the next st, 1 tr in the next chain, tr2tog in the next st, ch 1.

Step 4: Repeat step 2 and 3. 1 tr in the next st. Turn.

ROW 4:

Repeat row 2.

ROW 5:

Work  1 sc in each st across till end  (27 stitches) . Turn.

Repeat row 1 to 5 till get the length desired. The sample scarf of the pictures has 22 repetitions and measure 61.5 inches (156cm) approximately.

Make the fringes with the DK weight yarn. Cut 27 strands and put one on each one of the 27 stitches of the scarf.

The strands open of the sample scarf, measure 11 inches so you will need a 5.5 iches cardboard to make them.
